Progeny?! Really?!

Yes, it's true.... I'm pregnant. Crazy huh? And we all said Jeff ruined himself with the hot tubs and ocean! Ha! Well, this proves everyone wrong.
Yes, we are thrilled. We've been "trying" for several months, but thought it would take longer. We've been ready for a while, though, so this has been fun. It's been crazy telling people. We've gotten every reaction from "Oh..... cool", to "Are you joking?!" to uncontrollable laughter... you get the point. I don't think people were actually expecting us to sire any young.
Here are some of my favorite first words out of mouths:
"You are REALLY going to have to baby proof your home, this place is not kid friendly"
"You are going to gain a LOT of weight"
"You need to be really careful because you aren't past the danger point yet"

Seriously, what are people thinking?! I'm sure it will only get better from here. Thank you all you lovely people who are actually happy for us, and have congratulated us. It really means a lot, especially when people respond badly.

So, as for me I'm doing fine. We are only seven weeks, so we'd covet your prayers for protection and safety. I'm not really sick, but the thought of food is disgusting most of the time (sesame ginger rice thins and ice water are my special friends), and I can't stop sleeping. I'm getting 10 hours a night AND sleeping anywhere from 1 to 5 hours during the day in naps. This is ridiculous.
But, otherwise, I'm just fine. I'll try to post updates more frequently to let you know what's going on. We love you all!

PS. I finally posted updates about the rest of our lives, see below. :) There are some cute videos of my Alaska trip.

Love you all...

I don't know. I still have my doubts about Jeff's nether regions. He's done some considerable natural damage:
Oregon coast swimming to immediate immersion in boiling hot tubs.
Naked Portland driving.
Near naked night ultimate frisbee.

And that's just the things we've seen!

Hey Sweet Niece,
You and Jeff will be great parents. Besides, babies are not that hard to handle. Just feed them, change them, give them lots of sleep, and love on them all you can. No baby can get enough hugs and snuggles. And it is good medicine for the hugger. There is something magical about sniffing and cuddling a baby.
I love and miss you, AK
