By the way, in the time it took me to post my updates and read other people's updates, Jeff read AN ENTIRE BOOK. Is that not crazy?! Here's proof: he's 20 pages away from the end.... (and picking his head! Grrr...)

Progeny?! Really?!
Yes, it's true.... I'm pregnant. Crazy huh? And we all said Jeff ruined himself with the hot tubs and ocean! Ha! Well, this proves everyone wrong.
Yes, we are thrilled. We've been "trying" for several months, but thought it would take longer. We've been ready for a while, though, so this has been fun. It's been crazy telling people. We've gotten every reaction from "Oh..... cool", to "Are you joking?!" to uncontrollable laughter... you get the point. I don't think people were actually expecting us to sire any young.
Here are some of my favorite first words out of mouths:
"You are REALLY going to have to baby proof your home, this place is not kid friendly"
"You are going to gain a LOT of weight"
"You need to be really careful because you aren't past the danger point yet"
Seriously, what are people thinking?! I'm sure it will only get better from here. Thank you all you lovely people who are actually happy for us, and have congratulated us. It really means a lot, especially when people respond badly.
So, as for me I'm doing fine. We are only seven weeks, so we'd covet your prayers for protection and safety. I'm not really sick, but the thought of food is disgusting most of the time (sesame ginger rice thins and ice water are my special friends), and I can't stop sleeping. I'm getting 10 hours a night AND sleeping anywhere from 1 to 5 hours during the day in naps. This is ridiculous.
But, otherwise, I'm just fine. I'll try to post updates more frequently to let you know what's going on. We love you all!
PS. I finally posted updates about the rest of our lives, see below. :) There are some cute videos of my Alaska trip.
Love you all...

Weekend
I had five days off in a row this week. We told the fam, and ended up with Jack, Deb and Joy at a bed and breakfast up on Mount Hood for a few days. We spent Saturday skiing at Meadows, which was a crazy experience. I fell SO many times. I kept catching the edge of my ski on the sticky snow. I wasn't the only one having trouble, but I won't name names :). We went up to the top of the mountain to ski a green off the edge of the park but when we got there we had to wait for the driving hail to stop before we would start. It was painful! When we did brave the weather, it was a complete white-out at the top. It was actually scary because you couldn't see more than 10 feet ahead of yourself. I kept loosing sight of Jeff, who was in front, but we all managed to stick together. Once we got out of the cloud at the top we were virtually alone on this easy gradual slope (thank goodness) with about a foot and a half of powder. I've never skied powder before, and let me tell you, it's an experience. It is stinking hard to turn and my thighs were already killing me, so it was completely exhausting. But, it was actually really fun because you have no fear of falling, so you're able to try different things. It's like skiing in a huge fluffy down comforter. Now, of course, I'm SO sore, and tired.
The Bed and Breakfast we stayed at was a huge, beautiful log cabin overlooking two rivers, but I don't think we'll ever go there again. The owners lived in the cabin as well, and there was this strange obligation to spend time with them visiting rather than being able to relax on your own in more of a "hotel" atmosphere. It was not a come and go as you will place, and was pretty awkward at times. But, it was beautiful. Here is the view from our window:
I'm really glad to be home though...

Alaska - Part Two . . . (finally)
The rest of my trip in the great north was excellent, but went by too quickly. Pammy and I had a great time, and even had a clear day which to enjoy the view. Charlotte was a crack up as usual, and such a handful! She is so curious about everything, yet has those big eyes that you just can't resist. She calls me Aunt Yay-yee (for Lainey), and I just totally melt when she says it. :) Here are some more pictures, and a few videos of the rest of my time there:
Pammy and Taylor at the Two Sisters Cafe (how apropos considering we were two sets of two sisters :) Aren't they both so beautiful?
You can tell someone got into the markers....
The child loves books already!
Mom bought this chick for the girls for Easter, a very good investment since the girls were fascinated for hours.
This video is a bit longer but so cute. Charlotte is talking to grandpa on the phone and sings the whole ABCs, counts to 10, sort of, and has a gibberish conversation we were cracking up at. And Taylor is so cute in the background :). I love these babies!
