Could the nerdiness be any more blatant?

I had a moment of enlightenment the other night. I'll tell you the context: Jeff and I had gone to this hole in the wall little card shop called Ancient Wonders in Tualatin to play magic with a few friends. After several group games we decided that we would go up the street to Applebees to get some food. We ended up staying there for several hours with a bunch of people we'd never really met. There was one other girl there. Of the 10 of us 4 of the guys (including my husband of course) were coloring on the children's menu.
Yet in the midst of this I realized that I really liked these people. They were all very smart, quick witted and happened to enjoy a lot of the same things that I do. We were talking about sci-fi books, anime, magic of course, life experience etc. It amazed me that people who the world would look at and totally discount as having anything valuable to add are some of the most interesting people to spend time with. I never really had included myself in this group of "nerds" before, but I'll be damn sure that I'd rather spend time with them than arrogant people who refuse to see beyond the superficial. I had a really good time, and left really happy.
I would like to officially announce that I am thrilled to be a slightly weird, nerdy person who loves anime, sci-fi, magic the gathering, and video games! Bring it on.

P.S. I'll post some pictures the next time I go to the shop.
